Adoration Chapel - Always feel free to stop in and make a visit to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel while you are out and in town. You do not need to be assigned an hour to make a visit to Our Lord. Please access the Chapel using the outside entrance.
Sixth Grade and New Student Orientation - There will be a meeting for all incoming sixth grade students, as well as any new students, and their parents on Tuesday, July 29th, at 6:30 p.m., in the Middle/High School Library. This meeting is to explain the transition from elementary school to middle school. We will talk about classes, lockers, dress code, etc. It is also a good time for parents and students to ask any questions that they may have. Students may also get their lockers and locks before or after the meeting and fill them with their school supplies. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Craney at the W.C. Middle School at 254-2355.
Washington Catholic Middle School Lockers - Students entering the 6th, 7th and 8th grades for the 2008-2009 school year may begin to come pick out lockers, get locks, and decorate for next school year. Mrs. Craney will be in the school starting July 28th, (with the exception of August 5th and 6th) until the beginning of school. Mrs. Craney will be in the building from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but will leave long enough to eat lunch each day. Students need to come and get lockers before the first day of school on August 12th, because there will not be time allotted for this on the first day of school. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 254-2355 on the days and times listed above.
Second Annual All Fall Sports Kick-off Tailgate Party - Sunday, August 16th, at Rees Field, sponsored by the Booster Club. Tailgate Party will start at 1:00 p.m. with the Alumni Soccer Games to follow. Game times are still being determined at this time. Both current boys and girls Varsity Soccer Teams will take on teams consisting of former Cardinal players. The Booster Club will furnish hamburgers and hot dogs again this year. The drawing for the Tuition Raffle will also take place at the tailgate party. Sports Passes for the 2008-2009 seasons will be available as well as memberships to the Booster Club.
New for this year, will be the Alumni Volleyball game in the Birdcage at 7:00 p.m. The current varsity volleyball players want to see what the Alumni has to offer.

Holiday World Fundraiser - We have had a wonderful response to this event. We are waiting to find out how many people Holiday World can use August 3rd and August 10th. We will call everyone when we know. They will do their best to accommodate everyone but we have to remember they are a business and have employees who need hours before using us as supplemental staff. Next meeting will be August 7th, at 6:00 p.m. Also, on that night, the Booster Club will be making phone calls to sell tuition raffle tickets. The Booster Club Officers want to thank everyone for helping with all the fundraisers last year as well as making it a very successful and great year! But it is anew year and there are a lot of things that need to be done. Please feel free to get involved with the Boosters; your help is greatly appreciated.
The W.C. Booster Club is again having the Tuition Raffle. Tickets are $20 each with only 350 tickets being sold. Winner gets a choice of one student tuition paid at Washington Catholic Schools (Value of $2100) or $1000 cash. Tickets are on sale now and you can purchase one by calling Andrea Brown at 257-0449. The drawing will be held Saturday, August 16th, at the Fall Sports Kick-off at Rees Field. You do not have to be present to win.
The Transition Schedule for the closing of St. Mary and St. Simon Churches in Washington pending the merger into Our Lady of Hope is as follows:
July 27th - Mass in Spanish at 3:30 p.m. begins at St. Simon Church.
August 3rd - St. Mary Choirs (adult and children's) in Concert at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary Church, with reception following the concert.
August 16th-17th - St. Mary and St. Simon: There will be official closing ceremonies at all Masses. 3:30 p.m. Mass in Spanish will be at W./C. Middle School Gym.
August 18th-30th - Transformation of the former St. Simon Catholic Church into the new parish of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. No Masses will be held in the church during these days. Communion Services and daily Masses will be held at the Knights of Columbus. Funerals will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery.
August 23rd-24th - Mass will be held in the air-conditioned WC Middle School Gym at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday in the gym.
August 30th - Mass will be held in the air-conditioned WC Middle School Gym at 5:00 p.m.
August 31st - Bi-lingual Dedication of Our Lady of Hope at 10:00 a.m. by Bishop Gettelfinger. Overflow seating with telecast will be set up in the WC Elementary School Cafeteria. A cookout and festivities at the Community Building in the Washington City Park will immediately follow the Mass.
