New Business:
Fr. Traylor was introduced and welcomed. Fr. Gordon reviewed the events of the past two years. During this time St. Simon, St. Mary and the Washington Catholic Schools have joined into one body. The Parish Councils of the two churches combined. Steps were taken to strengthen the financial situation of the Community. Committees have worked out a new format for the future. Father thanked all members for their efforts and their willingness to sacrifice their time over the past two years.

Strategic Planning Committee:
Brenda Sobecki gave a report detailing the work of the committee since its inception in September, 2006, and its recommendations for meeting the charge of the Council set forth at that time:
1. The committee recommends the addition of a Chief Operating Officer as was recommended by the Diocesan Finance Council. This will allow the pastor to function as the religious leader and counselor.
2. A Stewardship Committee is developing to coordinate the various ministries with the talents of the parishioners.
3. After a thorough study of the survey results and implementing of current plans the Strategic Planning Committee be reconvened at a later date to make further long range goals and plans.

Organizational Chart:
Jason Davis presented and discussed the organizational chart that is the new model for our community. The Council discussed the policies and procedures document that details the formation of the Pastoral Council and the role of this Council in the church. Following discussion by the Council, A motion by Bryan Neukam, seconded by Mary Beth Vaught, to adopt the new Pastoral Council guidelines and organizational chart was passed unanimously. Greg McCarty made a motion, seconded by Mary Beth Vaught, to hire a person to fill the position of Chief Operating Officer, and this was unanimously approved by the Council. The Council then appointed an Interim Pastoral Council to begin putting in place a new Community Pastoral Council under the new chart and guidelines approved. The Interim Council will consist of Fr. Mann, Jason Davis (Council President), Ron Morgan (School Board President), Randy Emmons (St. Mary Representative), Mary Beth Vaught (St. Simon Representative), Jeff Clouse, Yvonne Evans, and the new Chief Operating Officer as ex-officio members.

Old Business: CPC:
Fr. Gordon announced that the parishes came within $20,000 of meeting the CPC goal. Private donations helped fill in the difference. Details will be in the bulletin.

Why Catholic? Program:
On the recommendation of Council members who attended information meetings, the Community will be implementing the Why Catholic? Program this fall. Details will come later.

Diocesan Pastoral Council:
Mary Beth Vaught will represent our parish on the Diocesan Pastoral Council. Meetings are in Evansville and concern Diocesan level activities and decisions.

Adjournment and closing prayer:
Greg McCarty offered the closing prayer, and the meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Gayle Otsby
